COMMUNITY SERVICE AND CHARITABLE INVOLVEMENT

bulletScholarship - The Club gives one $1,000.00 Scholarship to a student majoring in the visual arts.  The student must be enrolled at one of the four local colleges:  University of Illinois, Springfield; Lincoln Land Community College; Robert Morris College; or Benedictine College.  Students must make application for the Scholarship and are required to exhibit original work at the Club's Annual Table-Setting Luncheon.

bulletBasket of Hope - Members of the Club meet from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. approximately 3-4 times per year to make blankets, gowns, sweaters, caps, booties, etc. for the "Basket of Hope" project for this area.  These items are included in baskets given to families of babies born prematurely.  We also make small pillows that are given to the local hospitals for use by children receiving emergency treatments or chemotherapy involving intravenous administration.

bulletBlack Hawk After School Art Program - Members  of the Club volunteer monthly to work with Black Hawk Grade School children to teach them various arts and crafts projects.  Members also donate various clothing items, i.e., coats, hats, gloves, socks, scarves, etc. to the Black Hawk Students.

bulletCentral Illinois Food Bank - Members of the Club collect and donate non-perishable food items to the Central Illinois Food Bank.
